Continuing our long tradition of supporting the advancement of research and the sciences, Digital Scales Arizona is proud to donate weighing equipment to The Luces Study conducted by San Diego State University Research Foundation's Institute for Behavioral and Community Health (IBACH).
San Diego State University Research Foundation (SDSURF) has an almost 70 year track record of promoting research and education in the spirit of community service. The Foundation encompasses exploration across 1,500 sponsored projects funded by over 300 organizations, local and national.
IBACH itself carries on the largest and longest enduring research undertaking in the California State University system, focusing primarily on health issues plaguing the Latino community in Southern California. Excellence in quality of scientific research and a community focus across disciplinary perspectives are the tenets that guide IBACH to this day.
The Luces Study is but one study in the SDSURF's care. Luces seeks to make clinical and behavioral progress for the health of overweight Latino youngsters through IBACH's support. Digital weighing scales were needed to monitor progress during the program's weight control studies. The Luces Study seeks to expand population samples to improve knowledge and understanding of the many factors contributing to obesity among Mexican-American youth.
We at Digital Scales AZ want to further the progress that is being made in America's research facilities. That is why Digital Scales AZ is proud to partner with the SDSU Research Foundation, IBACH, and The Luces Study to promote healthy physical activity and diets among Southern California's youth.
